To Die For!!!

Shoes To Die For
Blue leather, studs, tassels, architectural heel. Shoes to die for from Topshop. What was almost left without attention are those criss cross tied leggings. So simple, yet stunning. Possible DIY project??

Easter holidays are for....

...dreaming of new white linen bedsheets
...finishing the design of a corporate identity after many months of work
...eating the best salmon salad with the best little sister
...buying ice cream and other treats with the little sister and then having a conversation about the deliciousness of them in Facebook
...almost buying the dream shoes (Chloé ankle strap wedges) from Ebay and then deciding not to do so after looking at my sad bank account
...not caring about the sad bank account and lusting over Josh Goot multi layered dress which even being on sale at Browns is still way too expensive
...making a playlist for waiting the summer
...walking barefoot on just washed floors
...reviving an abandoned blog

The Shape, The Coat

A great silhouette captured by The Sartorialist. That coat looks big enough to wear some cozy oversize sweaters underneath and the gold speckled leggins add a touch of unexpected to the outfit.

Note to self: need to buy a big coat with hood. Not black.

While anxiously waiting...

...for the spring, I may as well try to get the most of freezing weather and the warm, moody clothes that go with it. Here's some inspiration from Vogue China. The only thing warm in these photos may be the fur in the first pic, but at least the mood is right. I'm loving the shape of the fur coat and the flowy dress in the second pic. In fact, I'll put that kind of dress in my "to be sewn sometime in the near or not so near future" -list. Hmm, I may have to get some fabric tomorrow...

The Cutest Girls on Earth

I found Au Revoir Simone from some fashion blog a couple of years ago. I had never heard their music and it was their effortlessly dreamy style that drew me towards them. I actually bought their album "The Bird of Music" just because of their great sense of style. It wasn't long until I was in love with their music too.

The band of three girls, Erika Forster, Annie Hart and Heather D'Angelo (or rather women, but girls sound nicer to me) plays dreamy and light electro pop with their keyboards and a drum machine. The music instantly puts the listener into a happy summery mood and it compliments the three band members' girly and whimsical sartorial choices perfectly. They seem to prefer their clothes vintage, indie designer and as sweet as their music. Apparently the band has made friends with IvanaHELSINKI designer Paola Suhonen, since they've been spotted wearing Ivana clothes and they also performed in the brand's fashion show in Paris last year. I can't help but think that Erika, Annie and Heather might be the cutest girls on this planet. Seriously. Have you seen their new improved website? Cute as a button too.

This dark and cold phase of the year (which in Finland means about ten months of the year) always makes me dream of summer, and the music by Au Revoir Simone is the perfect soundtrack of my daydreams. Listen to this:
